Joy Human Development (JHD) Social, Economical, Environmental and Sustainable Development in the Community Joy Human Development (JHD) is a Zambian NGO that was established on the 15th May 2003 in the Lusaka District. JHD aims to bring social, economical, environmental and sustainable development to the community. Currently JHD is operating in the two provinces of Kabwe and Mumbwa, introducing health, education and quality of life projects to these areas. JHD's main objective is to provide malaria & AIDS education and control, as well as health and general education to vulnerable communities at grassroots level. JHD workd predominately with those most at risk, including children under five years old, pregnant women, orphans, widows and families in poverty. JHD uses arts and crafts, drama and sport as tools to empower women and children. Malaria is a killer disease in Africa. JHD are taking an active role in encouraging education at an early stage in schools, to help educate and encourage people to use preventive measures and change their behaviour towards malaria.JHD offers support for victims of violence and sexual abuse with counselling available for victims. JHD also provides advice on health matters and sexual education to the community.
